Access to our plugin in Adobe Creative Cloud App Store here

Reviews: How to Organize and Share Feedback from a Sample

We know how crucial it is for brands to provide suppliers with accurate feedback on each sample. Clear and precise feedback helps avoid unnecessary samples and saves time in the development process.

To assist you in providing these precise feedback effectively, Rechain PLM offers the ‘Reviews’ feature

To create a sample Review, go to the 'Reviews' tab (1) and click on the '+ New' button (2)

Now you see the side panel for creating a review, in which you can:

Specify the title of the review
Specify the sizes of the received prototypes
Add photos of the prototype (optional, can be added later)
Click on '+ Add Review' to confirm the creation of your review."

First, let's see how to add pictures of your sample to a review. As mentioned previously, it is possible to add a photo during the creation of the review. But it is also possible to add one later at any time. For this, two options exist:

Click on the "Upload Files" button to import a photo from your computer's file explorer.
Click on the "Add via phone" button to add the QR code from your phone.

Understanding Product Size Charts

Also called spec sheet or PoM chart (PoM = Point of Measure), the size chart is a synthesis of the essential measurements of your garment. It’s a key support for the pattern maker in generating patterns for the garment. This chart undergoes regular updates during the process to identify any inconsistencies and necessary modifications following the initial sample.

It's an essential part of the tech pack for every garment.

On Rechain PLM, the size spec of a product is available in the “Measurements” tab of a product.

Product Colorways refer to the different style variations of the same product, which can include colors, prints, embroideries, and other design elements. Let's explore this concept with a couple of examples:

Consider a crew-neck t-shirt available in blue, white, and grey. To manage this, you would first create the base product called "Crew-Neck T-shirt" and then proceed to create three distinct Colorways within this product:

Blue
White
Grey

Now, let's envision a scenario where this "Crew-neck t-shirt" comes in two different versions, one with a "New York" print and the other with a "Paris" print. In this case, you would create a separate Colorway for each print within the same product:

New York
Paris

How to create and manage Colorways?

1. Creating the first Colorway for a product

In your product, go to the Colorways tab and click on “+ New Colorway”.

Photo of this colorway (will be used to illustrate this Colorway in the techpack)

To save this Colorway, just click on the “+add Colorway” button.

Draw measurements

As you know, communicating the most accurate size chart is essential to avoid any misunderstanding regarding the dimensions of your product. That's why Rechain PLM allows you to easily associate a photo/sketch with each point of measurement on your size chart. Read this article to learn how to add a picture to a point of measure.

Creating precise illustrations to explain how to measure each dimension can be quite time-consuming using external tools such as Illustrator or PowerPoint. That's why Rechain PLM introduces the "Draw Measurement" feature, allowing you to draw dimensions on a photo or illustration of your product directly from Rechain PLM and associate it with the measurement point on your size chart with just one click.

To access this feature, go to the "Dimensions" tab of the product and click on "Draw Measurements".

On this page, to save you time, you will find (1) the illustrations you previously added in the "Sketches" tab of this product.

If you wish to use other files to draw the measurement points, click on (2) "Upload Sketch" to select a file from your file explorer.
