Additional Product Fields
Rechain PLM comes with several standard product properties, but you are able to create as many custom product fields as you need to ensure that what you have in Rechain PLM matches your internal process and covers all the information you need to communicate with your team and/or your suppliers.
These product fields cal also be included in your tech pack exports.
The additional product fields are displayed in the “Details” tab of your product.
Now, let’s see how to create and manage your additional product fields.
You can manage your additional product fields from the workspace settings.
(To access the workspace settings, click on the name of your workspace at the top left of your screen, then click on “Workspace Settings”.)
In the “Product” section, click on (1) “Fields”. You will land on this page.
The “New Group” button allow you to create groups to organise your product additional fields.
If you don’t need to organise these fields in groups, you can directly create your first additional field using the (3) “+ New Field” button.
First, let’s see how to use the groups. After clicking on "+ New Group":
Name your group
Save it
Once a new group is created, you can:
Add new additional product fields to this group
Rename and delete the group
When you create a new field:
Name it
Select the type of field you want to assign to it. It’s really helpful to standardise the way the data will be saved, to keep the data consistent and well organized among your products.
You can assign it to another group here if needed.
Click here to confirm and create the new field.
Once your product additional fields are created:
You can drag and drop them using this button
You can select to which product category you want to assign each additional product field: some product fields might be relevant only for a certain type of product.
Here is a summary of the number of product categories using this additional product field.
You can rename and delete the product field using this button.
Your new additional product fields are now set up and ready to be used in your products and exported in your tech packs. 🥳
