Create BOM Additional Fields

When adding components to your Bill of Materials (BOM), you may need to include additional information that is relevant at the product level but not necessary at the component level. In such cases, you can create custom BOM fields.

Let’s say you have an elastic component in your library. When adding this elastic to the BOM, you want to specify a cut length for the garment. Since the length will vary by style, it doesn’t belong in the component data itself. Instead, you can create a custom BOM field (such as Cut Size) to capture this information directly within the BOM.

Creating a BOM Custom Field

Access your workspace settings:

1. Click your brand name in the top-left corner.
2. Select Workspace Settings.

1. Scroll to the Product section and click on BOM Fields.
2. Click + New field.

1. Enter the field name.
2. Open the dropdown menu.
3. Select the appropriate field type.
4. Click Add Bom Field.

Your new field is now created and ready to use.

Viewing Your Custom Field in the BOM

To view your new field:

• Go to your Product Library.
• Open a product and navigate to the BOM tab.
• Use the View tool to enable the new BOM field.

Your custom BOM field will now be visible in the product’s BOM view.
