How to Add a Sketch to a Component

For more complex components, adding a sketch can be beneficial. A sketch is useful when:

• The component has a new design with no existing image references.
• The component includes intricate details that cannot be fully represented through images alone.

Without the Illustrator Plugin

1. Navigate to the Component Library.
2. Select the component you want to add a sketch to.

3. Click the four arrows next to the Edit Component title.

4. Go to the Sketches tab.
5. Click Add New Sketch.

6. Drag and drop or select the file you want to upload.

7. Use the dropdown menu to assign the sketch to the appropriate Component Sketch Group.
8. Add sketch description.
9. Click Add Sketches.

10. Your sketch is now uploaded to the component.

With the Illustrator Plug-in

1. Open your component sketch in Illustrator.
2. Click the Window tab.
3. Find the Extensions menu option.
4. Click on Rechain to open the extension.

5. Select the Components tab.

6. Search for the component you want to add a sketch to.
7. Click on the component.

8. Click Add Current File.

9. Select the Component Sketch Group.
10. Add a Component Sketch Description.
11. Click Upload Sketch(s).

Your sketch is now uploaded to the component!
