How to annotate your Sketches
In your product, the “Sketches” tab allows you to add pictures, illustrations, and technical drawings related to your product. Once added, all these sketches will be available for export in the tech pack of your product.
Sketches are great for illustrating how you expect your product to be manufactured. However, with the annotation mode, you can provide even more precise indications about your product.
Let’s take a look!
First, add your sketch as usual. Then, click on the “Annotation mode” button to open it.
To add annotate your sketch with a comment, click on this button (1).
To add an annotation:
- Click and hold to position the annotation number.
- Release the click once the arrow is correctly positioned.
Once the arrow is correctly positioned, you will see this textbox, allowing you to write a comment for this annotation.
To enrich your comments, you can click:
Here to link construction details to this annotation
Here to link a point of measure to this annotation.
Once saved, your comment is visible on the right.
If you select this button (2), you will be able to link a component to your annotation.
The list of components to link to this annotation will be directly suggested:
You can assign components that are already in the Bill of Materials of this product
Or you can assign a component from you libraries
If you link to your annotation a component that is not yet in the Bill of Materials of this product, you can activate the (1) "Link components to product" option to add it to the Bill of Materials of your product.
Once saved, your annotation is visible on the right, in a section dedicated to the components.
You can also
add several arrows for each annotation
Adjust the position the arrows.
Using these buttons you can draw on your sketch: free shapes, lines and shapes.
All the annotations added on the sketch will be automatically available in your next tech pack export, both in PDF and Excel.
