How to export a tech pack in PDF or Excel
In this article, we will explore the various options available to export and share the tech pack of a product.
Once your product is created on Rechain PLM, it is very easy to export the tech pack in Excel or PDF format.
To do this, go to the product for which you want to export the tech pack and click on the "Export Tech Pack" button at the top right of the page.
Here, you will be able to customize the information and format of the tech pack you are about to export:
Select the format of your tech pack
Select the information to include in the tech pack
Once the customization is complete, click on "Download Tech Pack" and after a few seconds of loading, the tech pack will be generated.
To save time, you can also create tech pack templates. Select the template of your choice from the "Choose Template" menu at the top of this window, and all the export settings will be applied automatically.
Once the tech pack is generated, this window will appear. At this point, your tech pack is already automatically saved in the "Tech Packs" tab of your product. From here, you have two additional options:
Download Tech Pack File – Click here to download the tech pack you just generated.
Copy Share Link – Click here to copy a private link that gives access to your tech pack.
You can also click on (3) to close this window and preview your tech pack from the "Tech Packs" tab.
The link provides a secure, private way to share access to the generated tech pack file (Excel or PDF). The recipient can view and download the tech pack directly. This method is especially useful when the file is too large to attach to an email, ensuring fast and easy sharing without size restrictions.
In the "Tech Packs" tab, for each tech pack in the list, you can:
Create a shareable link to invite someone to download the file (very useful when the file is too large to be sent via email).
Preview the tech pack
Download the tech pack
Rename/delete the tech pack
