Sharing Products with Clients or Suppliers
Having the ability to share products with clients or suppliers gives you control over when a product becomes visible to them. This ensures that only finalised or approved products are shared externally.
This article will guide you through the steps to share a product within Rechain.
Note: If you haven’t yet onboarded any clients or suppliers and would like to share products directly through Rechain, please contact our team. We’ll help you create a user role tailored to their needs.
How to Share a Product
- Navigate the Product Library and select the product you want to share.
- Click the Share button.
- Under the Share Access section, click the dropdown menu.
You can now choose to share the product with either user groups or individual users.
Sharing with a User Group
- User groups are represented by a group icon (circled blue below).
- Select a user group if you want to share the product with all members of that group.
Example: Share with a supplier group to give access to the Tech Pack for sample development.
Sharing with Individual Users
- Individual users are represented by a colored circle with their initials (circled pink below).
- Select an individual if you want to share the product with a specific person only.
Example: Share with a client to review a design.
Finalising the Share
- Click on the user group or individual user you want to share the product with. A blue checkmark will appear to confirm the selection.
- The selected names will be listed under the Single Access section.
The client or supplier will receive a notification informing them that a new product has been shared with them.
Removing Access
If you no longer want a product to be shared with a client or supplier, you can remove their access by following these steps:
- Click the Share button on the product.
- Click the X next to the user's name to remove their access.
